4. AI-Powered Features and Data Sharing
SwahiliFlow uses artificial intelligence to power interactive learning features. When you use these features, certain data is sent to third-party AI services for processing:
- Live Roleplay: Your voice audio is transmitted in real time to Daily.co (WebRTC audio streaming and real-time AI conversation). After the session, your conversation transcript is sent to OpenAI to generate performance feedback. Transcripts are saved to your account for future reference. Audio is streamed in real time and is not stored permanently by Daily.co.
- Roadmap Assessments: Your spoken responses are streamed via Daily.co (audio streaming and real-time AI conversation). Your answers are then sent to OpenAI to evaluate your Swahili proficiency and generate a personalized learning plan. Results are saved to your account.
We only send the minimum data necessary to provide these features. Conversation transcripts and assessment results are saved to your account for future reference and to support your learning progress. Your data is not used for advertising or sold to third parties.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Daily.co: Real-time voice and audio streaming for live roleplay conversations.
- OpenAI: AI-powered feedback generation and assessment evaluation.
- Firebase (Google): Authentication, cloud storage, analytics, and real-time data sync.
- Apple Sign In / Google Sign In: Secure account authentication.
- Apple In-App Purchases: Subscription management and payment processing.
Each service operates under its own privacy policy.
6. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Firebase Cloud Firestore and transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). We take reasonable measures to protect your information but cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us. Upon request, we will delete your personal data within 30 days.
8. Children's Privacy
SwahiliFlow is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware of such collection, we will delete the information promptly.
